You probably already know that Team Dream is based in Los Angeles, where nearly half of the population is Hispanic. But did you know that half of the owners of Team Dream (1 of 2) are Hispanic? Hispanic culture is all around us here and Carla decided it was about time we make a shirt that celebrates the impact and history of her culture in Los Angeles.

They really liked the rhythm of the words and decided the text didn't need to be a literal translation of the brand's name to feel right. Spanish can be a very playful language and diminutives are used not only to reference a smaller version of something, but also to add an emotional or endearing emphasis. What's more endearing than a little chubby kitty?

Blackletter, or Old English, has a looooong history in Mexico, one that we don't have time to dive into today. Through their experiences in Mexico, and growing up in Southern California, Carla and Emilio both had lots of exposure to blackletter. It is a familiar comfort from their youth. So Emilio created his own version of the type just for us! How much more could you ask for?!
